Call for Funding

for

 Research Projects

within the

Public Memory Research Centre

Members of the PMRC can apply for funding under the Centre’s research policy at any time of the year.

This is a call for funding for the second half of 2008 and early 2009.

Specific Funding Programs

The Research Project Program provides funding for group or individual projects within the Centre. Staff receiving a research Project grant will normally seek funds from the Faculty of Arts Research Committee in addition to Centre funding.

The Centre Fellowship Program will make funds (a limit will apply) available to buy out a RASMs teaching for a semester so that they can work full time in the Centre for a period of 6 months and increase the FTE staff load within the Centre. Centre fellows will be attached to the Centre and may be called upon to help with conference organisation and grant applications. Support for replacement lectures is not normally funded under the program.

The Early Career Research Mentor Program will make funds available for ECRs to engage a research mentor who will work closely with them on a specific project until it produces a DEST outcome. These funds are intended to buy the time necessary for the kinds of close attention mentorships require if they are to succeed and may be used for the teaching relief of the ECR and/or the mentor.

The Targeted Publication Program provides research funds to members who need a block of time or a short research trip in order to complete a DEST recognised journal or book publication.  The objective is to speed the delivery of specific outcomes.
