Richard Gehrmann

Before moving to USQ Richard taught at the University of Queensland. He teaches Southeast Asian history, comparative Asian political issues and International Relations
.

While Richard has published on Australian images of Asia, the Indonesian military, and problems of tourism in Indonesia, his current areas of research cover the position of Australians in colonial Asia, and defence and foreign relations, and military history.

While Richard's current research activity is focused on the military dimensions of Australia's relations with India pre 1947, he maintains an interest in Australian foreign relations and Southeast Asian politics and history. Richard is currently head of the International Relations discipline at USQ.
